If you love the rich flavor of Vietnamese Robusta coffee but want a quick and clean brewing method, AeroPress is the perfect choice. At MissTrang, we believe that you don't need expensive coffee machines to enjoy a delicious, authentic cup of coffee in just a few minutes. The interesting thing about AeroPress is that it reduces the bitterness of Robusta beans, replacing it with a smooth, clear flavor while still retaining the characteristic alertness. This device is so convenient that you can take it to work, on trips, or brew at home.
Everyone has different preferences regarding strength, so you can adjust it to suit your taste. If you want a stronger flavor, reduce the water (ratio 1:10 or 1:12) and press harder. For a lighter, more delicate flavor, you can increase the amount of water or use water at a temperature below 90°C. The recipe below is designed to showcase the true identity of Vietnamese Robusta and is balanced, easy to enjoy for most coffee palates.
What you need: MissTrang’s Vietnam Robusta Signature Coffee Beans (Medium Roasted) - 100% Pure High Quality Vietnamese Robusta Whole Beans.
Ratio: 1:15 (15g coffee grounds, Vietnam robusta signature: 225ml hot water).
Grinding size: Medium coarse.
Tool: AeroPress coffee maker, paper filters, stir paddle, scale.
1. Weigh out 15g of ground coffee. Prepare 225ml of hot water, heated to between 92°C and 95°C.
2. Reverse method: Insert the piston into the AeroPress tube body approximately 1-2 cm. Put the AeroPress device upside down with the tube opening facing upwards.
3. Put the filter paper in the plastic lid, then rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste.
4. Add 15g of ground coffee into the inverted Aeropress tube.
5. Pour about 30ml of water into the coffee grounds to wet them (double the amount of coffee). Stir gently with a spoon 3-5 times. At 30 seconds, pour in the remaining 195ml and stir gently once more.
6. Put the filter into the lid of the tube (with the filter paper). Wait 1:15, gently press down just enough to release trapped air (CO₂), then stop.
7. At 2 minutes, carefully flip the Aeropress onto your cup and press the piston down slowly with even pressure, allowing the pressing process to last 30 seconds.
Result: A clean, smooth, well-balanced cup that highlights Robusta’s chocolatey depth without harsh bitterness.
